Last night I played Mario Kart DS for the first time online (yay wireless). Anyhow, I noticed on courses like Rainbow Road that people were going extremely faster than me. Like when game start for first 30 seconds every thing seemed normal but people were passing me up going like three times faster than me.
They kept the speed constant too. I was driving fine, at full speed most the time but they would just zoom right by me realllly fast.
Are there cheats, hacks, or something that could be abused? Now this didn’t happen every single time, it seemed to be those from Japan. If there are cheats/hacks I won’t play it online. If it isn’t I’ll learn to get better! Just wondering.
Oh yeah, anyone know if Mario Kart for Wii has cheatting problems? I’ve never played console games online just computer games. I’m getting Mario Kart Wii for christmas (My wonderful wife, thank you). Just curious.

Most likely, they have an Action Replay for the DS. There is no Action Replay for the Wii, however. So there shouldn’t be any problems there.
different characters have different stats like speed and control (turning).
no, they did not cheat. they just probably had a faster kart than yours and were doing allot of drift boosts. those boosts make me really fast and helped me to pass the hole game and including getting every character and kart and passing the challenges.
